Listen to our podcast on the UK’s crypto market abuse regime

The Financial Conduct Authority will soon publish the final version of its cryptoasset rulebook. That rulebook will include new standards for the detection and disruption of cryptoasset market abuse, building on offences already set in legislation.

The latest episode in our podcast series on UK crypto regulation examines the market abuse regime for cryptoassets, known as MARC. Listen to our latest episode now:

MARC’s wide reach: New offences covering insider dealing, unlawful disclosure and market manipulation will apply generally and some firms, including regulated UK crypto trading platforms and intermediaries, will be subject to additional compliance obligations. Other firms may also be impacted by the new regime, such as crypto derivative traders who will need to manage MARC alongside the existing market abuse framework. Peter Bevan and Sherryn Buehlmann flag the key points to note.
