Our UK Payments Horizon Report 2022 sets out the important regulatory milestones for the year to come.
The report covers the FCA’s approach to payments supervision, cross-sectoral developments, the payments landscape, and what the next steps are for regulating crypto-assets in the UK. It also compares these with similar developments in the EU.
Q1 2022 is already shaping up to be a busy period. For example, by the end of March 2022 payment institutions and e-money institutions must be ready to comply with:
- the FCA’s operational resilience regime
- EBA guidelines on outsourcing, as per the FCA’s May 2021 statement
- changes to Brexit-related obligations as standstill relief ends
- the FCA’s annual financial crime reporting obligation
For a broader assessment of fintech trends around the world look out for our Fintech Global Year to Come 2022 and Year in Review 2021, available from 8 December.
